Uncle Billy’s Kona Bay Hotel and its sister property, Uncle Billy’s Hilo Bay Hotel, claim to be the only two Hawaiian-owned hotels in Hawaii. The hotel is staffed by Uncle Billy’s family, and there is an emphasis here on island congeniality and Hawaiian history and culture.
